Ok my friend has yarn dreads in her hair and she wanted to loc that way. We can't seem to find much info online so i'd appreciate some tips/advice. Her hair was braided down using synthetic hair and yarn wrapped around that. The ends are also burned.

Is this the correct method for locing w/yarn? I'd like to know for me as well b/c they look CUTE! Thanks =)

When I had mine done I was warned not to get wool yarn as it would loc my hair.

Is she trying have her hair fuse with the yarn like loc exstensions?

@Afrocentchic I don't think she minds if it locs in her hair

Did the yarn feel heavy for you two? Also a random quesion (kinda off topic) is it "ok" so put sew-in tracks over baby locs? Like to cornrow them down and all?

I've heard of people wearing wigs and such with caps when they wanted to switch it up without getting rid of their locs. The yarn did feel somewhat heavy at times for me

That's what I was coming in here to say.

If she wants to use the yarn to loc her hair she'd probably be better off using wool yarn.
