This was mt first time getting one, and my cousin is going to take it out for me. I got it done on January 3rd, and will probably be taking it out Tuesday or Wednesday. I was wondering once I take it, can I leave my hair in the braids until Friday, which is when I go get my hair done? Should I detangle it or do anything to it before I go to the salon. I plan on getting it deep conditioned or a hot oil treatment. My scalp tends to get pretty dry. Idk if it matters, but the sew in was done with a net covering the braids.

Yeah it really doesn't matter. Leave them in or take them out. If your getting your hair done your gonna take them out anyway.

Whatever you do make sure you detangle your hair before water hits it. You wont be able to wear your braids out after the tracks are removed unless you wear a wig over it.

You can leave your braids in for a bit after you take out your sew in if you plan on wearing a wig. Detangle your hair yourself before you go to the salon

You don't necessarily have to wear a wig to keep the braids in as long as your not planning on making public appearances and are okay with less than nice looking braids for a few days. My stylist has taken my hair down and detangling it as part of my hair appointment. If you are not known to be patient and gentle with your hair, I would recommend waiting and letting the stylist detangle, just as an extra precaution.

Denman brush or tangle teaser
Clarifying shampoo (Quantum/chelating)
Aphogee 2 step treatment
Deep Moisturizing conditioner to follow.

You can pre-poo/detangle by adding coconut oil or a product with slip to soften the hair.  Do not add water until your hair is fully detangled. Do NOT RUSH....take your time.

Also, I'm tenderheaded and I need at least 24-48 hours between takedown and install otherwise my head is sore.  Take advil before your install for pain management.

I usually use a tangle teaser and kinky curly knot today for the really tangled sections. Thid makes detangling a ease. I then use a clarifying shampoo and a GOOD moisturizing shampoo.

also as someone stated before MAKE SURE YOU DETANGLE COMPLETELY and get rid of most if not all of the shed hairs or you will have matting and more tangling.
