Ok..so I have loc fever now...I just wanted to know if anyone has ever started locs with kinky twist extentions.  Then as they grow you just retighten the roots.  I just did the big chop and have been wearing braids and can't conceive wearing my hair that short. 
 
Has anyone ever started there locs this way?
 
Can anyone provide me with some yt vids or info on people who have?  I can't find anything.
 
How did you start your locs?

Started with Braidlocs.

I don't know anyone who has started them that way I can check for you since I'm on the tube. Slim chance most of the people I sub to or watch started with loc extensions (same thing as kinky twists ? lol iunno) and or rasta braids (form of micros) yarn braids I've read information about starting locs maintained by interlocking.

With that said I think interlocking is the way to go. I have to interlock my braids now let me tell you I was scared to death I've heard so many rumors and ect watching videos and bookmarking interlocking patterns for locs I can manage doing it myself.

Tons of interlocking videos on the Youtube. You can use tools from within your own home but the process takes at least 3hr- couple of days depending on how many locs ,skill, and attention to detail. I plan to interlock the beginning of Feb I am woofing at the roots lmao

Hmm I don't know of anyone who has. I started mines with two strand twists but I doubt loc extensions would be too difficult. Maybe try asking local locticians about them. The process,etc even if you don't hsve them do it. You will gain different perspectives
