I straightened my hair last night, and it came out very nice and slick. In like 5 minutes, it went poofy. I redid it this morning and the same ol thing happened. I live in London, and its not exactly hot so I dont understand why this is happening. I used Fantasia IC Heat Protector Straightening Serum. I used my ghds to straighten my hair. Im 4b. Where did I go wrong?Confused

I find that when natural hair is straightened..
It has to be sort of weighed down a bit for it to last.
Usually the day after its been wrapped, it holds better and some of the "slick" is gone.

I think maybe if you use something with a creamier consistency before you had blow-dried or air-dried. Then use something with an "oily" consistency before flat-ironing..
It might hold better, and you'll be doubling your heat protectant too. :)

I'm not that big on straightening anymore, but that's what I would do.

But maybe you need to use another product.
When I used IC's products, my hair didn't turn out so great.Ouch

Humidity will revert hair so quickly for me even if it's not Hot, if the humidity is up my hair goes all poofy on me, (I rarley straighten any more now, like a few times a year). But what I would do is wrap it IMMEDIATELY after pressing it, the next day it will hold a bit better. Also I would use more oil than normal just to weight the hair down more.

I recommend a very good hair product to help you reduce frizz and keep your hair healthy and shiny, it's Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil hair treatment with heat protector, it smoothes the cuticles and helps fortify hair that is prone to breaking, split ends and supplies hair nutrients. Provides heat protection against electronic hair tools. I bought it at safrons.
