Hey Ladies!

I came to share a dilemma, maybe some of you have experienced the same. I have been natural  my whole life but have never had my hair super short and chic (which I'm craving). Recently in March I decided to comb my locs out and wear my hair loose and grow it out to its max for a while.

Its seems like I was caught up on length then and now I really don't care. I would like to cut my hair short this spring/summer and color it. Is this just a phase? Or do other people go through this too?
The reason why I'm wary is because its quite a drastic change. Any opinions?

Here is my inspiration

Here is my hair after a blow out and trim last month, right now I have yarn braids in.

I loved having short hair and it was a phase that lasted about 3 years.  I also tried colouring it once which was a big mistake for me as it really dried out my hair; splits and breakage galore.
this healthy natural hair journey is harder than expected!

Yeah coloring will do that, I was thinking of going the henna route. I might just cut it when sprin comes along. Thank you for responding! Happy New Years in advance too.
