Hey ladies. First I hope everyone is doing well.  I've been ghost on here for quite some time now. But I have missed you all.  I need to post some new pics. Anywho I was hoping someone could help me.  I've been wearing my hair out a little more lately, mostly in bantu knot outs, twists outs, and braid outs.  I've noticed the towards to middle to the end of my hair, its not as defined as it is further up and near the roots. Is it a ph issue? Or maybe I need to take my time when doing the style towards the ends so it will be more defined? or maybe I'm just seeing things?

I've only had this problem if my hair wasn't completely dry when I take my bantu knots out.

In my opin based on solely what you have said I think it is a dryness issue. Curl definitions prerequisite is moisture. I think clarifying (your hair) and moisturizing as eboni1 said is a good start. Sealing with an oil and topping with a humectant afterwards would be an added benefit.

If your products that you are currently using worked in the past I think that may be a good place to start.

The state of your ends also has crossed my mind are you experiencing alot of tangling and knotting? Maybe its wear and tear from wearing your hair out?

To be honest with you: I have never even bothered learning about PH since my hair journey and I have still gotten good growth/ retention. So I really doubt that's your problem.

In addition to what was already said, I would also consider doing an acv rinse. I would also try adding less product because excess product runs downward toward your ends and might be weighing your curls down.

No relaxer since 8/2008 and loving it♥
only 10" left to grow.

Thanks for the responses ladies. I wear protective styles mostly. But I did recently wear my hair out for a few weeks. and i noticed single strand knots.  I had been using afroveda totally twisted, so I may try using my leave in the next time I do it and see how it works.
