Topic: I'm starting to feel like I drink too much Posted: Dec 02 2011 at 11:53pm |

Hey BHM, I'm starting to feel like maybe I'm drinking too much. I go to class mon-thurs, and on thurs I like to have a bottle ready for some mixed drinks. I think my major problem is that I always drink alone, and also when I drink I do it to get drunk. Since July my mother has been in a nursing home due to a stroke which paralyzed her on one side. Before then I had been celibate, eating healthy, and hadn't had a drink since Oct 2010. Since then I've been drinking on my days off and having sex wit my sons father who I had been broken up with since Oct. Not to mention eating any and everything uncontrollably. From Oct 2010 I had been successful with my celibacy as well as not drinking, but after my mom got sick my whole world just crashed. I feel so lost.

congrats on acknowleding you have a problem howeve you should seek out a counselor to help you with your issues before you self destruct. Hang in there as stress can make us do things we normally wouldnt do. Maybe channel that drinking into something positive like exercising instead. Instead of hanging with ex call on a few friendgirls to just chat or hang out for a few.

focus on your son as he needs a rational mother not an alcoholic one. While u are stressed and worried about your mother do not let it consume you until you are no longer able to be a productive mother to your son and best person for yourself. If you need professional help do not be afraid to seek wether it is from alcholic anomyous, church clerk, or professional counselor. Check social services in your area to find free services or at least discounted.

Hair I am--it does sound like you have deep depression about your mom and your life in general. Please seek professional help to stop "self medicating" your pain. You and your child deserve better. Hang in there, my sista!

Viola said her look came thanks to husband Julius Tennon, revealing: 'He told me, "If you want to wear wigs for your career, that's fine, but in your life wear your hair. Step into who you are."'

Listen....sometimes when bad things happen its real easy to fall into a rut...it happens to the best of us. But just remember that things in life are always changing....and if its not so great now it means it can only get better. Hang in there...I know it will all work out
