For kinky twists and micros the most I've paid is $180 in African braid shops, don't think I'd go higher than that. I've also had the same styles done for cheaper

I paid $200 for individual extension braids in a salon for many years; my hair looked great and never broke off. I feel like that's the going rate in a salon.

But now I found an "at home" braider through friends and family that charges only $120 and comes to my place and does a great job.

I won't try any stylist without a recommendation and I am willing to pay high prices as long and my doesn't break off and they actually listen to what I want.

kinky twist 180
single braids and Senegalese was about 150, I wouldn't pay more than 180 for anything though, if someone charges you more tell them to bring it down or walk away.

I wouldn't pay anymore than 175 in a salon. For a kitchen beautician, I wouldn't pay anymore than 150. That's if they don't charge by length. If they do, I'm better off doing them myself.

edit: added the last statement

Last time I had some small senegalese twist, I paid $200 in a braiding salon.  They were small beautifull and longggg.  I wouldn't pay more than that.

The best natural stylist I've ever been to I still see. I've been going to her for 4 years until I taught myself how to do some styles, but I still go to her when I'm feeling lazy. She charges me discounts, and wants me to work with her so now I get styles for free and a paycheck! Befriend good stylists! lol

my discount/original price

kinky twists 80/130
senegalese 90/160
long box braids 90/130

My particular stylist gives some decent discounts to everyone, so no one ever really pays her full price. I'd suggest getting a good stylist that also gives discounts to students/elderly/military/etc if you're trying to save some money. Since I've been paying those prices I don't think I would ever go over 120 for those styles, especially since I can do them myself and I'm trying to be more independent form my parents and save money.
