i just started finger detangling 2 days ago.i normally use a comb 2x per week and i get breakage.will i see a great reduction in breakage if i finger detangle.also will my hair get a bit thicker.i am currently just past SL

Eboni, the only time I use a comb is on wash day which is anywhere from 1x week ti 1x month (depending on the season). I think keeping Cleo stretched and minimal combing is very beneficial to my retention. Finger combing allows me to have less shed hair when I do my major detangle session. I also contribute the use of an oil( mine is olive oil) be it a pre-poo or detangling aid. HTH!

I herelately fingercomb when I'm applying my prepoo of conditioner and coconut oil. Using coconut oil seems to really give my hair alot of slip when finger detangling. Then after I shampoo, I apply conditioner to my twists then detangle with my denman and I lose little to no hair using this method.
I have noticed my hair feeling way thicker herelately, and I'm not complaining. My hair's taking a turn for the better!

I primarily finger detangle and have since 2009. I don't have a lot of breakage. I only see breakage when I use a comb/pick or blow dryer attachment. Try it and see what works for you. You may find that you have to use a comb just less often.

Me!
I keep combing less and less. It use to be once a month when I clarified
my hair. Now it is when I need to which has not happened since around
October I think.
Now that I am doing 2 strand twist outs, my hair is stretched and I finger detangle when I retwist my hair. My hair seems to love no combing.

I finger detangle every two weeks or so when I re-do my twists. I see some shedding but not the scary amounts I used to see when I detangled with combs. I only use the comb when I'm washing my hair and only when it's saturated with conditioner.

My hair seems to like it, but I have to be more careful. I'm not doing it thoroughly enough, and that's what leads to matty-mc-craziness all up and through.

Nah, not for me. I don't experience breakage with a wide tooth comb and it's been doing well for my curls since 2008. I only finger comb to distribute product better.
