My parents wore afros in the 70s. The only products I've heard them mention are Afro-Sheen and and a pick.
 
I think that's why people's hair was so healthy looking back in the day. They didn't saturate their heads with all kinds of products. I know it probably saved them some cash as well.

Does anyone have pics of their fros? And or videos on what they do. I mean I understand whats needed (stafosof. oil sheen and a pick) (I use softee curl activator and organics root stimulator olive oil moistrizer mixed and seal with castor oil) and I have been rocking mines off and on for 2 years, but want it perfected like the 70's one. My hair gets so tangly and dry by the end of the day and its a 40 min task just to moisturize and detangle every night to twist and set it. The pick just never goes through smoothly like I see other ppls. I need to know what I'm doing wrong.

My mom was too young in the 70's to remember. Lol. I could ask my grandmother....

My dad didn't have a fro, well...he sorta did, but it wasn't round. Confused
