I really want to join a challenge. I usually don't because I am inconsistent, but I have been on my A-game this month! I could use some support.
Now, I cut off my hair to start over because I was tired of dealing with my damaged ends and I want to texlax myself and just start a whole new regime. It took me a long time to finally do things on MY terms. A lot of family issue. And honestly, its still there. But the more I stand up for myself, the more it doesn't matter. And I'll be moving out soon. I'm thinking... if it doesn't work my way, I'm going natural because this is too much of a pain. If I'm going to have short hair, might as well be for real. Why did I have damaged ends?: Braids & weaves for too long without properly moisturizing my own hair, going to the salon, not experimenting enough to find what actually works for me (instead of "it works for everyone else, so maybe my hair is just supposed to feel like this"), getting braids and weaves TOO often (again, just because everyone else can relax and use protective styles all the time doesn't mean I can).

I'm currently experimenting with a lot of ingredients and products and methods, so I will document that as we go along. Here's a blog post of what doesn't work for me:

& a new discovery!
Castor oil + Aloe Vera = O.M.G. softness!! More details later.
For December:
I will be traveling to Africa. Now, last time I went, doing my hair was just a huge inconvenience. It is no wonder that women either have bad weaves, braid, or go natural (no styling, just legit twa's). I'm doing a sew-in because... if I thought I had family hair issues at home, EVERYONE ELSE is in Africa! It will be 10x worse! Don't want to deal with it.
But I'm taking down after 3 weeks. Before new years. I know weaves is what causes breakage for my hair because its hard for me to maintain my REAL hair and I get frustrated with it if I have it on for a long time. Also, I have trouble taking it down, but this video's tips help A LOT! Why did I never think of getting a seam ripper???!!!

Regime for Africa:
- Use dry herbal shampoo once a week (ORS)
- Apply Hairdrenalin daily
- take my vitamins daily
- use S-CURL as a moisturizer daily (I would use aloe + castor, but I just want something that I KNOW will work. S CURL has -cones in it as well as the humectant my hair likes, so it will def. work)
Products for Africa:
- Curling dryer (for weave)
- hot comb (for weave)
- MyGel (the best clear gel ever)
- S-CURL
- Herbal shampoo
- Hairdrenalin potion (black castor oil growth aid)
- Hair vitamins
- Mineral supplements
